The team at North Valley Bank arranged for the California Cancer Crusher to visit Redding to help raise funds for the Make A Wish Radiothon on March 20 and 21 at the Mt. Shasta Mall. A Redding man is back on his skateboard making the trek from the North Coast to southern California. Darrin Burch is on a mission to promote cancer awareness. He left on Mothers day and hopes to complete the trip over the next few week. Manny Machado of Redwood News sat down with Darrin before he left on his trip.
St. Joseph Hospital launches a new lung cancer screening program in an effort to save lives. This program is called low-dose computed tomography. Lung cancer is not only treatable but also curable when diagnosed early. This new screening can lower the risk of death by 20%.
